How do I join the club?
Memberships are available through referral by members, then subject to approval by our membership committee. Please contact us for additional information.
Where is the club located?
The club is located in Fairfield, NJ. It is convenient to routes 46, 80, 287 and 23.
What are the hours of the club?
All members have 24/7 access to the club.
On the first Wednesday of each month, however, the club is open to 80 dinner attendees and their guests who have RSVP'd prior to the dinner date. If a member has not responded and still may want to attend the dinner, you can come to the door on the night of the event for seating. If not all seats have been taken, you may still be able to attend the dinner.
Access may change due to special events, sporting events, etc. Although most events will be geared toward member use.
What does the club offer its members?
The club is a quiet, upscale facility so you can enjoy your cigars in a comfortable setting. The club offers two 42" Plasma TV's with both DVD and VHS players and wireless Internet. The game room has, darts, chess, backgammon, dominoes, three card tables and a full size pool table.
We have a commercial ice machine, microwave, toaster oven, coffee machine, Espresso machine, refrigerator and soda/snack vending machines.
We have a walk-in humidor with 190 lockers that are available for members to store drinks, cigars and other accessories. Lockers can be rented at a nominal annual cost of $60.00 per year. The locker measures approximately 13″ x 22″.
We will have our monthly general meeting/dinner in our La Cubana Room on the first Wednesday of the month. As in the past, these meetings will have representatives from various companies like cigars, wine, beer, liquor and related products. These meetings will be catered.

I'm not a member. Can I attend one of your monthly dinners?
If you are in the process of considering club membership, just go to our club store and sign up for our events. Just do it early as our 80 person capacity fills up fast.
What is the cost to join the club?
The Metropolitan Society offers three types of memberships, tailored to meeting the different types of members who may visit our facilities. You can become an Associate Member of The Metropolitan Society for $410 annually. Membership privileges in the club include 24 hour, seven day a week access to the club, 13"h x 13"w x 22"d personal locker with key in our walk-in humidor and member rates to all of the club’s annual events and activities.
In addition, our daily "usage" fees are a nominal $5.00 charge, with a monthly minimum of $20.00 for usage. In order that we can maintain our extremely affordable membership and locker fees, we require only that members guarantee that they will use the club at least four times a month, at $5.00 a "use" for total of $20 per month. So, you will be billed for $20 monthly and every time you use the club, the $5.00 charge will be deducted against the $20.00 monthly minimum. For example, your monthly minimum is $20 for anywhere from 1 to 4 entries a month. If you exceed four entries, we assess you an additional $5.00 Per Entry
So, your monthly minimum covers your visits on four separate days. Multiple visits on the same day are covered under your one $5.00 charge.
To create the best value for our more frequent users, we have created a maximum billing of $50.00 per month. If you find you will be using the club regularly, you may want to consider prepaying the maximum monthly entrance fee of $50 for eleven months and get the 12 the month free.
All charges above are for member usage and do not apply to guest fees.
The Metropolitan Society offers two additional memberships for those who live outside of a radius of the club and to those serving in our armed services. A Travelers Membership is designed for members who live 75 miles or more from the club and a Military Membership is available for active duty members of our armed forces. Both memberships are only $100 annually. Your membership also entitles you to rent a locker, depending upon locker availability. There is a $10.00 daily use charge and no monthly minimum.
By submitting an application for membership in The Metropolitan Society LLC. you agree to pay any annual membership fees as soon as you are notified that your application has be accepted. You agree to provide us with current credit card information for monthly billing.
You also agree to abide by all rules set forth by the Board of Directors and contained in the Operating Agreement and house rules of the Society.
